Amanda Burnett is a children’s illustrator based in Mandurah, Western Australia, where she enjoys coastal life with her husband and children.
She studied Illustration Design at Curtin University, and continues to pursue inspiration by collecting children’s books and studying the work of her favourite artists. Her own artwork is whimsical, fun, and full of surprises (often in the form of unexpected mice!). She works primarily in ink and watercolour, enjoying their playful effects, but she has recently begun experimenting with digital illustration too. Altogether, whatever the medium, Amanda relishes the fact that she gets to spend all of her working day drawing and never has to rush to change out of her pyjamas!
When Amanda is not illustrating, she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and being a part-time taxi driver for her children.
