Berndt-Joel Gunnarsson

Berndt-Joel Gunnarsson

Berndt-Joel Gunnarsson lives close to lake Hjalmaren in the southern part of Sweden. He bought his first camera when he was 12 years old but worked many years as a teacher before his hobby became his profession. Much of his inspiration comes from following the seasonal changes. This often means spending hours of waiting for the ”light” in early mornings and evenings. He's fascinated by catching the blue light at dusk in wintertime, even when the temperature is 20 degrees below zero. Most of his life he has lived in the country side with nature all around him. He's a member of an artistic network with annual exhibitions and open ateliers. For his exhibition work, he often finds inspiration in the abstract forms of nature. Studying the complexities and subtleties in plants, animals and landscapes shapes a huge part of his work. View Full Bio
