Owning a piece of original art that has been created for you is simply magical.  At Advocate we turn what some people perceive to be a daunting process into an enjoyable one. We are very experienced in brokering a commission for you, we organize 1000’s of commissions  per year-  its our business to get it right!

Whether it is a colour theme from your home, a place you have visited, or memories from your Honeymoon, our artists will create something purely original and personal.  Capturing a moment on canvas and portraying a mood using the subtleties of an artist’s technique means you can have the ultimate gift or family treasure created exclusively for you.

We will show you (in person or by email) examples of Venetian scenes for a Venetian commission; Tuscan scenes for a Tuscan commission; New York for a New York commission. Our data base has 50,000 examples. Seeing how your idea will turn out beforehand eliminates the guess work!

Some artists can provide you with several small “roughs” or mini pictures to choose from, enabling you to suggest colour or composition alterations before moving on to the final canvas, all with our guidance. Nicola Evans produced these thumbnails for a commission based upon a Honeymoon visit to Table Mountain in South Africa. The client was able to select which one they preferred for the final canvas, and they were thrilled with the final result. This commission cost was £700.

Rough Minitures

Alec Macdonald paints beautiful costal and park scenes. Supply a family photo and he will interpret this into a picnic or beach scene. This example was painted from a family photo taken in Florida. The size is 17” square and costs £500.
