Latest signings

We're pleased the announce that we recently signed Australian artist Amanda Burnett to our rosters! Amanda's adorable characters and attention to detail would make her perfect for children's books. If you'd like to see more of Amanda's work, please visit her Advocate portfolio, and to learn more about the artist herself, read below.

"I was born in a tiny country town in Western Australia in 1978. The area I live in now is a small island to the south that has the ocean on one side, and the estuary on the other. I have always loved being creative, from a very early age I loved to draw, make and write stories. I think the illustrations of May Gibbs "The Adventures of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie" really captivated my imagination, as they were stories set in the Australian bush and so I could really relate to them. They inspired me to create my own little world and characters to this day!

I studied illustration design at Curtin University, Perth and I still regularly take art classes to learn new things. What drives me is wanting to make better illustrations and push myself to be the best artist I can be. I take inspiration from the many children's books that I collect, both vintage and new. My art is whimsical, fun, and full of lots of cute chubby little mice!

If I weren't an illustrator I'd love to be a scientist...preferably of the mad kind and while I am not illustrating I  like to spend my free time with my husband and 3 children in the countryside."
