“I live in rural Somerset with three black cats and have always been in love with the countryside, animals and plants. I have drawn and painted since I was old enough to hold a paint brush and so painting natural form is the perfect way to embrace my two passions. I strive to convey how I feel about nature via the medium of painting – perhaps to draw attention to a particular curve of a petal, colour of a leaf or pattern on a butterfly wing. I want other people to see the beauty that I do and take something positive from it.
I studied art at Brighton University where I grew up and have a Diploma in Botanical Painting with the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) for which I was awarded a Distinction. I exhibit regularly with the SBA and gained a ‘Certificate of Merit’ in last year’s exhibition (2016) for one of my paintings.”
