Emma was born in 1974, in a small seaside town in Essex, which she dreamed of escaping from, along with her dreams of becoming an artist or an illustrator.
Indeed she began to realise her dreams when she left to study design at Central St Martin’s school of Art. Following this, Emma worked as a model-maker and a teacher of model-making.
Her childhood desire to be an illustrator, however, resurfaced with a vengeance after the birth of her first daughter. It was soon after this that Emma decided that this was what she needed to do with her life, and set out to create a portfolio in order to achieve this.
Along the way, however, mural painting, singing in a Ska band and soap making became part of her career ventures!
Emma now has four children and has moved back to the seaside town of her birth (ha ha).
Emma has worked as a professional illustrator since 2011, and has worked on a wide range of projects. However, she has recently completely renewed, updated and reworked her portfolio following maternity leave.
She works with oils and canvas and also works digitally with a Wacom tablet, using Corel painter or Photoshop.
Emma loves painting animals, and also has a passion for portraiture and abstract art, when she has spare time (which isn’t too often!). She also loves reading, listening to music, cooking and gardening.View Full Bio
