Hayley Dearlove is a freelance illustrator based in rural Worcestershire, where she grew up. As a child she loved drawing, and obsessed over many a colouring-in book, dreaming of bringing her own characters to life one day. At Falmouth University, Cornwall, she took the opportunity to follow her dream and studied illustration, graduating in 2003. Since then, her work has been used on a variety of products, including greetings cards, stationery and children’s books.
Hayley’s work is diverse, she loves the challenge of developing new styles and always watching out for the latest trends. While she is passionate about working in the traditional media of pencil and paint, she also often combines them with collage and digital artwork. Overall Hayley’s work is bright, colourful, quirky, fun and often quite adorable.
Living in the countryside, Hayley draws inspiration from the nature that surrounds her. She adores animals, and some of her characters are based on her own pets, investing them with love. While she’s not busy illustrating, she loves long country walks, water sports, beach strolls, attending gigs, tea and cakes, playing guitar and singing in her local choir.View Full Bio
