Julien is a freelance illustrator from Paris, France, who now lives and works in Bordeaux. From a young age, he knew he wanted to draw pictures for a living, and started his career by drawing all over the walls of his house (which, as one can imagine, his mother was not very happy about…). He cites Disney’s “The Jungle Book” as his greatest childhood inspiration, and it is a film that he still loves.
Julien studied at Lisaa (L’Institut des Arts Appliqué) and the Intuit/Lab, both in Paris, and then went on to build a freelance illustration and graphic design career, working in advertising and publishing. His work has won awards and been published widely.
Julien’s work is mostly generated digitally, as he loves the power of Photoshop and Illustrator to create versatile imagery. He especially enjoys drawing monsters, creating new textures, and using as much colour as possible. While he’s working, he is often kept company by his cat, Nuage, but only if Nuage isn’t busy eating or sleeping.
When Julien isn’t illustrating, he loves going to the cinema, cycling on his custom-made bicycle, and travelling.
