Carol Herring is an illustrator based in Canterbury, New Zealand. While most of her illustration work is done digitally, she loves painting fun characters with gouache. Growing up in a creative household, she did a lot of painting and drawing, and loved making unusual looking pottery animals and doll house furniture. Carol gets a lot of inspiration from her five kids and the menagerie of animals that surround her while she works from home. She still has a collection of Richard Scarry books from her childrenhood that she also draws inspiration from.
