Hi, I am Cat, a children's book illustrator based in Scotland, UK. I dedicate my days creating cute characters and whimsy backgrounds to compliment writers' work, using both digital and traditional media. I grew up in Brasov, a small city from Transylvania, Romania. Living in a small city with inspiring medieval architecture and surrounded by mountains and forests played an essential role in my development as a young art student. After graduation, with a degree in Fine Arts and Design, I traveled for a few years around the world as a portrait and cartoon artist. After I moved to London and had the opportunity to illustrate a campaign for Oddbins UK, I became a freelance Illustrator, working for a diverse range of projects which eventually led to illustrating children's books.
