Claire Mcelfatrick

I am busy for a month, please book me in.
Born in Oxford in 1977, Claire grew up in Buckinghamshire, where she spent her childhood days doodling and painting surrounded by glorious countryside. She was never without her sketchbook and pencils and always dreamed of becoming an artist. Claire studied Fashion and Textile Design at DeMontfort University Leicester and soon after graduating she landed her dream job as a greetings card designer for a leading UK publisher. She went on to have a successful 12-year career there, becoming a Senior Designer and subsequently Design Manager. This gave her the exciting opportunity to work closely with buyers from retailers on projects including stationery, gift dressings, POS, 3D products and greetings cards. Recently, taking on the new challenge of motherhood, she now happily freelances from her home studio in rural Northamptonshire, where she lives with her husband, two daughters and tabby cat, Huey. Her world inspires her work; wherever she travels, she’s drawn to anything with pattern, interesting colours and texture. She loves pottering around vintage shops and keeps a close eye on trends. When she’s not designing, or running after her little monkeys, she loves to bake and indulge in her passion for films. Her artwork is a mix of hand drawn illustration, collage and Mac based techniques. She likes to create depth and texture with a contemporary yet commercial style. She’s continuously experimenting with new techniques and she thrives on a new challengeView Full Bio
