Meet the artists

We're just crazy for Theodora Totorean's beautiful fine art designs, and we're so excited to share her extraordinary, exquisite illustrations with you. Theodora's artwork is heavily influenced by the loveliness of nature, and she uses vibrant, rich colours to bring her expressive paintings of flora, fauna and landscapes to life. Her work is ideal for greeting cards, wall art and art licensing. I was educated in Romania and I have a degree in Literature and Ethnology and a masters degree in Historical Anthropology. I have always been creative and painted as a hobby, but my career took a different path until 2011, when I decided that art is what I always wanted to do. Since my childhood I attended art classes in Romania and I had paintings selected for various exhibitions. Between 2003 and 2004 I took a course in decorative art where I learned some techniques and also how to play with shapes and colours to create semi abstract and decorative paintings. In creating my art, I am inspired by nature, music and poetry and I like to incorporate in my paintings other materials like fabric, paper cuts and fibre washers. I would describe my art as lyrical, semi abstract and decorative. I am currently exhibiting my work in group exhibitions in the UK as member of Devon Artist Network and Exe valley Artists. I am represented by West Country Galleries in Weston-Super-Mare and I had work in gloss-Art Gallery in Exeter and The Moreton Gallery in Gloucestershire. Apart from painting, I write art related articles for Leisure Painter magazine in the UK and for clients and galleries in USA and Europe. I am also a published author with two poetry chap-books and a collection of short stories and I had work published in various literary magazines in Romania. I enjoy world cinema and watching Hitchcock films, I like ballet, and I read mainly poetry and anthropology books. I also like spending my spare time in nature, walking, hiking and visiting new places.
