Spot the Sample - Louise Forshaw "Find out About" May 21 2019
Samples and spottedThis week at Advocate, we're celebrating the completion of another fantastic children's publishing project! Our super talented illustrator Louise Forshaw has just finished illustrating not only one, but two books for Hachette imprint: Pat-A-Cake, and currently working on more in the series!
We’ve asked Louise to tell us about the two titles she’s worked on:
'Feelings' and 'Animals' are the first two in the 'Find Out About' series of flap books for children. 'Feelings' helps children recognise different emotions and facial expressions. They follow along the scenarios and then decide which emotion that child was feeling using the flap. 'Animals' includes various facts about the animals with hidden information under the flaps.
She also shares a bit about what she loved most about illustrating these titles and how they helped her learn new facts.
I absolutely loved illustrating these titles. Children are my favourite thing to draw so I had a lot of fun making sure the right emotions and expressions came across on the spreads. 'Animals' was great fun because I got to illustrate some animals I've never drawn before. And I also learned a lot of facts too! The books look amazing in print and I'm super happy with how they've turned out. One of my favourite projects to date!
We couldn’t be more proud of Louise’s accomplishment. She always does an outstanding job and is a real pleasure to work with for both agents and the clients. If you’d like to take a peak at the book, enjoy scrolling through the images above. To see more of Louise’s work, make sure to look through her online Advocate portfolio. Make sure to get in touch with one of our agents if you think Louise would be perfect for one of your upcoming projects!
