Introducing Christine Apr 01 2020

Advocate Art is excited to welcome another new and talented artist agent into the Advocate family, allowing us to grow and expand as an agency! Christine works in our NYC office after graduating from New York University with a Studio Arts degree. Her creative background means she has a good eye for detail and is good at briefing artists. Having been born in South Korea and living in Alabama in the US as an immigrant, she is able to understand the diverse experiences of the many artists we represent.

Want to know more about our agent Christine? Have a read through our short Q&A below.

Why did you become an Illustration agent?
During college, I had a big desire to learn as much as I could about the different areas of art. My studio arts degree allowed me to experiment with graphic design, sculpture, illustration, and animation, which led me to interning and working as an animation intern, a sculpture monitor, and a graphic design intern. With all this different skills and interests, I thought that working for an illustration agency that not only works on children's book projects, but also licensing like greeting cards and patterns would be a great way for me to learn and explore even more about what art can offer.

What do you love most about the role?
I really love being able to meet artists all around the world and help them develop their portfolios! As an artist myself, it's really rewarding and inspiring to see projects and portfolios develop from a concept and into beautiful pieces.

What do you hope to accomplish here at Advocate?
After selling a beautiful design by Clare Wilson to be made into baby swimwear and baby bibs, I have grown an interest in expanding our baby clothing clients.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
If I'm not doing (trying) kickboxing or art, I'm probably imagining what life would be like with two cats or playing animal crossing on my switch.
