Artist Feature - Jane Bridges Sep 12 2014Rencontrez les artistes
What a more perfect way to end this week than by featuring Jane Bridges and her fabulous florals! Her complimentary use of colour always give her designs a fresh, elegant look that is very attractive and really stand out against the crowd. Her work is perfectly suited for art licensing and greeting cards and you can find more in her online portfolio. Jane describes herself as an artist who can’t stay away from florals. Her inky, colourful paintings and sketchy drawings are translated into lively, contemporary designs. Originally from Norfolk, Jane always wanted to be an artist. She had a spell working in advertising in London before relocating with her family to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales to follow her dream. Jane trained in Surface Pattern and Textile Design at Bradford School of Art, where she gained a distinction. She has received national and international recognition for her work, including the Surtex Designext prize, where she exhibited in New York and the Ideal Homes Wallpaper of the Year competition. Jane paints in her garden studio where she is kept company by her iPod and her cats. She takes pictures of flowers anywhere and everywhere (much to the amusement of her children), and has built up a vast inspiration library. Her vibrant florals can be found on bedding, greetings cards, cushions and tableware.
