Artist feature - Andy Wright Jun 02 2016Nouveaux artistes
Happy to announce our artist of the day is newly signed Andy Wright! Andy brings his unique style to the table and explores subject matter such as fairytales, and genres such as fantasy and even steampunk! We think he'd be best suited for older and real styles. If you'd like to see more of his work visit his Advocate portfolio. Andy describes himself and his work in his own words:
"I was always the nerdy arty child , drawing X Wings and Tie fighters in endless battles around the Death Star. My parents actually have an old photo of me aged 7, brush in hand, paint everywhere, sporting a fantastic 70's bowl hair cut- cheers Mum!
I would describe my work as a whimsical cartoon style. A personal favourite that I have created is 'Thomasina Kettle' a Victorian character who has a time travelling tea kettle strapped to her back that is powered by used tea bags. Think I might be watching too many Terry Gilliam and Tim Burton films!
My professional background is in video games and animation. I trained in film school then went to work for Siriol on 'The Princess and the Goblin' in the early 90's. Since then I have worked on numerous game and TV projects.
I currently live Wales with my wife, daughter and small, yappy dog Buddy."
