Artist Feature - Brittany Tingey Nov 27 2017

Meet the artists

We are completely thrilled to announce that we've just signed new talent! Brittany Tingey, an American illustrator based in Salt Lake City Utah, has always been incredibly curious, often dreaming of "distant places and times."  Much of this appreciation for history and archaeology appears in her illustrations as she incorporates historical components.  Brittany's work is especially great for picture books but she's always interested in expanding her skillset and portfolio so if you have a project in mind for her, don't hesitate to reach out to us!

"Brittany Tingey was born in March 1987 under the shadow of the great Rocky Mountains in Provo, Utah. As a small child she dreamed of being an archaeologist, exploring the jungles of South America. She has always had a curious and imaginative mind and spent her time scouring the library for new books on ancient Egypt and dreaming of what life was like in distant places and times.

When she grew up she settled for what she considered the more practical job of artist. She graduated with a BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University and has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators several times. She loves to study anthropology, mythology and science and write poetry. She collects old children's books and minerals from around the world. Today she lives in Salt Lake City, Utah where she spends her days in her studio surrounded by house plants and is kept company by her two cats and little dog."
