Hi, I am Marianna - a book illustrator and greeting card designer with over 40 books published to date. A Painting graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, I carry a painterly approach into my work. My process is a deliberate dialogue between tradition and the present: I begin with the tactile energy of watercolor and gouache on paper, later refining the imagery digitally to ensure a professional finish without losing its organic soul.
I create with a deep love for color - not as decoration, but as a source of vitality. My art is a bridge between the vibrant joy of life and the quieter depths of the soul. Living with my family and black cat between the deep green forests and the Baltic Sea, I find my inspiration in the long shadows of the North and the healing power of a bold, expressive palette.
My creativity also thrives in the sun. As a traveler, I often find fresh energy in the colors and birds of Mexico or the light of Southern Europe. This fascination with nature’s rhythms brings a vital energy to my illustrations, where I often leave room for suggestive storytelling and mystery.
For me, illustration is about creating a visual world - weaving together composition and detail to ensure every book is a complete, immersive space for the reader.
