Monika is an illustrator with a background in finance and a degree in Linguistics. When people ask her about how this all fits together, she often says that she is a structure-and-systems kind of person who enjoys detail work and puzzles. She first started working in watercolours at her local folk high school growing up as a teen, and has continued self-directed studies on illustration ever since. Monika is inspired by creators who share generously about the research they do and strategies they employ in order to solve visual challenges in their work. She has been a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators since 2014 and was shortlisted for the SCBWI British Isles Undiscovered Voices anthology in 2018. When she isn’t illustrating, Monika enjoys reading, baking, knitting & crocheting for the kids in her life, movie nights, traveling, urban sketching, and learning about the areas she visits by hunting for geocaches.查看完整简介
