Hello! My name is Yi and I am a freelance illustrator from
Auckland, New Zealand. I have a double degree in law and English literature but I meandered off that career path into illustration instead after graduation. That said I am happy that I can still work tangentially in literature even if it is only illustrating books. It is of no surprise that my hobby is reading, and my favourite text of all
time has to be JRR Tolkien’s works which made my current living situation a childhood dream come true. However New Zealand is also bountiful in other things including an endless array of amazing scenic landscape and I often hike in the mountains to gain inspiration for my art projects and to recharge my creativity. I love
