Meet the artists

Have a look at one of our talented concept artists here at Advocate Art, Stephanie Dominguez. Her use of perspective and lighting really captures the drama of her illustrations. The exaggeration of elements of her characters really make them more appealing and great for book ideas. Have a look at more of her work on her online portfolio. I grew up in Switzerland and moved to the UK in 2006  to study illustration at the University of Central Lancashire. After graduating in 2010 I worked as a freelance specialising in picture book until 2012 when  I decided to broaden my skills by undertaking an online course in concept art in order to lend my creativity to the entertainment industry. I grew up like many watching cartoons and Disney movies and I was always fascinated by the way art came to life on the screen and how it was made, often wishing the cartoon world were real like in the movie Rodger Rabbit. I love nothing more than make people smile and tell story through my work. I am constantly inspired by my surrounding, daily life events as well as other artist such as classical painters to other visual development artist such as Bobby Chiu, Pascal Campion, Armand Serrano or Brett Bean. I always have a sketchbook at hand and my favourite red pencil to draw with. To produce finished work I use my Intuos5 Wacom tablet and Photoshop. I will usually listen to music which fits the mood of what I’m working on or podcast with the latest tips and advice. I am definitely more a country girl loving the green of nature and seeing animals wondering free everywhere. If I wasn’t spending all my time drawing I would be a chef with a small rural restaurant to fund a bunny sanctuary.
