Hey there! I'm Angie Alape, a Colombian artist known for my harmonious use of color and bright stylization that gives my work a unique flair. Whether working digitally for clients or exploring traditional media in my sketchbook, I pour great attention to detail into creating characters that feel truly alive. When I'm not immersed in my art, you can find me connecting with nature, hiking, or simply enjoying the company of my senior rescue dogs, who have taught me invaluable lessons in resilience and empathy.
I'm honored to have received the Moonbeam Children's Illustration Book Award in 2024 and the LDSPMA's Spark Award in the same year. One of my proudest projects is "Unique Like You," a picture book where my illustrations beautifully complemented the heartfelt story. Clients appreciate my meticulous approach, ensuring each project aligns closely with their vision. With a background in graphic design, I bring a deep understanding of color and value to every piece I create.
As a child, my love for picture books planted the seed that blossomed into my passion for creating my own. To stay inspired, I step outside my routine, watch movies, listen to music, and spend screen-free Sundays with my loved ones and rescue dogs. I aspire to inspire others to be their best selves while practicing self-kindness. Through my art, I aim to bring joy and connection, just like the bond I share with my furry companions who have shaped my journey as an artist and as a person.
