Hello! I'm Denise Plant, an illustrator based in the scenic mountains of Utah. My illustrations, often featuring my hand-lettering, grace products in craft stores, gift shops, and on greeting cards. Influenced by mid-century artists like Alain Gree and Mary Blair, my work exudes a playful, colorful, and nostalgic vibe. Embracing the quirky and sometimes bizarre elements of pop culture, I infuse humor and beauty into my creations, adding a unique touch to my artistic style.
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from Brigham Young University and annually showcase my vibrant artwork at the Beehive Bazaar in Utah. Clients appreciate the retro flair and captivating colors of my illustrations. Working mainly digitally, I craft each piece meticulously on my iPad, blending textures and lines to achieve an analog aesthetic. Known for being friendly, responsive, and reliable, I enjoy collaborating with clients to bring their visions to life.
Growing up with a Disney Imagineer father, I inherited a deep love for creativity and magic. Trips to Disneyland and a soundtrack of new wave music fueled my artistic journey. Inspired by historic architecture, vintage children's books, and diverse city life, I draw creativity from my surroundings. Beyond art, I cherish family time, naps, and doing anything creative. With a 1970's fixer-upper house, three biggish kids, a large Airedale Terrier, and a husband that keeps me laughing, there is never a dull moment!
