Hello, my name is Eloise Szaruga-Bolt (SHA-ROOGA - BOLT) I'm a digital artist from East Anglia and now calling Norwich, UK, my home. My style is a blend of clean lines and playful characters, predominantly crafted using Procreate on my faithful iPad. While I cherish my digital realm, I also like to play with the tactile nature of watercolours and gouache, letting my imagination roam across different mediums. Drawing characters has been my lifelong passion, nurtured by a rich inner world and a love for storytelling.
One of my proudest projects to date is the 'CJ Baker: Mover and Shaker' series, where I immersed myself in building the world and characters, enjoying the creative journey along the way. Armed with a First Class BA Hons degree in Illustration, my intuitive knack for selecting colour palettes breathes life into my expressive character designs, a trait that resonates with my clients. My creative process is carefully carried out, beginning with photographic mood boards, tiny pencil thumbnailing and culminating in essential detailing that brings my illustrations to life in digital form.
Outside of making art, I find inspiration in the magic realism book covers and manga volumes that captivated me as a teenager, shaping my artistic aspirations. Nature walks and indulging in fellow artists' comics and children's books recharge my creativity, infusing my artistic drive with fresh motivation. Embracing a curious yet restful life with my husband and our adorable tabby cat, Lemon, gives me joy and is essential for nurturing my soul. Ultimately, I hope to be remembered as someone who is kind, joyful and true to themself, hopefully creating some great art along the way.
