Hello, I'm Giovana Medeiros, a freelance illustrator from Criciuma, Brazil, I lived between Dublin, Lisbon for the past 10 years, and just moved back home. My art features flat shapes, bright colors, and textured illustrations. With over 11 years in the field, I craft engaging visuals for a range of subjects, blending a strong personal style with adaptability for various projects and audiences. My creative process is a fusion of traditional sketchbook work and digital techniques, resulting in dynamic and inspiring pieces.

Drawing from a background in Fashion Design and illustration, I infuse my characters with expressive clothing and unique styles, adding depth and personality to them. I also constantly challenge my views on what diversity in illustration means, trying to expand how to represent people on each project, whilst drawing a lot of inspiration from real life. While embracing a lively and joyful approach to each project, I prioritize creativity, reliability, and flexibility in delivering great solutions that captivate and inspire.

Growing up in a rural Brazilian town has instilled in me a deep appreciation for nature's subtleties, and a childlike wonder for whenever I have the chance to experience city life. Whether sketching everyday people, exploring galleries, or immersing myself in public transport listening to music, I find inspiration in the ordinary moments that fill my sketchbooks. Away from my art, I cherish simple pleasures like sharing a meal with loved ones and unwinding with a good book or a painting session, nurturing the creative spirit that fuels my work.
