Hello, I'm Helder Oliveira, an artist originally from a small town in the north of Brazil, now based in São Paulo. My digital creations are infused with the essence of traditional painting techniques, where vibrant colors and delicate brushstrokes converge to give my pieces a uniquely soft and textured appearance. Drawing inspiration from color theories and character design trends, I strive to craft fresh styles and captivating color palettes. Embracing my identity as a queer individual, I channel themes of kindness, empathy, and self-acceptance into my art, celebrating the beauty of being different and unique in this world.

Having collaborated with HarperCollins on two middle-grade books featuring queer protagonists, I take pride in creating narratives that resonate with a new generation, offering representation and empowerment through storytelling. Clients appreciate my innovative approach to translating their ideas into visual masterpieces, where my keen eye for color harmonies shines through in every creation. With a background in Physiotherapy, I leverage my understanding of anatomy and body mechanics to bring life to my characters and dynamic scenes, infusing them with a sense of realism and movement.

My artistic journey is deeply influenced by visionary creators such as Maurice Sendak, Beatrix Potter, and Candido Portinari, whose works have left an indelible mark on my artistic sensibilities. Drawing inspiration from the shapes and textures found in art galleries, museums, and the natural world, I constantly seek fresh references to enrich my visual language. Rooted in the lush diversity of the Amazonian region, I weave together a tapestry of natural elements in my art, reimagining the world through a lens of boundless creativity. On lazy Sundays, you'll find me immersed in books and painting with traditional watercolors.
