Hi, I’m Jamie Wong, an illustrator and motion designer based in Melbourne, originally from Singapore. I make simple, hand-drawn, organic work with expressive characters, thoughtful shape language, balanced colour, and layered tactile textures. A big turning point for me was during a volunteer trip to Cambodia, when I gave a drawing to a girl and saw how much warmth and connection it could hold. Since then, I’ve been drawn to creating art that feels honest, gentle, and emotionally grounded.

I studied Multimedia Design before completing my Bachelor of Design in Animation and Interactive Media at RMIT, where I received the Dean’s Award 2025 Special Mention and an earlier Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Achievement in Multimedia Design. My work has been screened at The Capitol Theatre in Melbourne and RMIT Design Fest, and I’ve contributed to healthcare and education projects including Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, onSponge, and Oodles Math. I’m known for being attentive, collaborative, reliable, and thoughtful in both process and execution, with a strong focus on making work that not only looks good, but genuinely resonates.

A lot of what inspires me comes from everyday life: walks through neighbourhoods, quiet moments, time with people I care about, and making things by hand. I’ve volunteered at an aged care centre in Melbourne for three years, and outside of work I love nature, sewing, knitting, cooking, and experimenting with tactile materials. Growing up between Singapore and Melbourne has also shaped how I see identity, home, and belonging, and that honesty naturally finds its way into my work. On a perfect Sunday, I’m usually with my partner exploring a new cafe, getting some fresh air, and heading home to my two very cute feline sons.
