Hello, I'm Jean-Luc Marçais, a Paris-based artist known for my vibrant illustrations featuring strong and diverse characters. I blend traditional drawing with digital coloring to infuse my creations with personality and a touch of graphic flair. Inspired by my multicultural background and childhood experiences, I strive to make art that is relatable yet artistically intriguing. Through my work, I aim to shed light on often overlooked narratives and spark conversations about cultural diversity and identity.

My artistic journey has been marked by notable achievements, including winning the Disney+ prize for my children's book pitch and participating in prestigious exhibitions like "The Parisianer." One of my proudest works is "Grandes Vacances au Mini Vietnam," a whimsical novel for children that draws from my own memories and heritage. With a background in illustration from ENSAD Paris, I meticulously craft each piece, paying keen attention to color palettes and intricate details to bring my characters to life. Whether working on illustrations or motion design projects, I approach each endeavor with a commitment to quality and creativity.

Beyond the art world, I find joy in music-making with my band SaturneVille and exploring new sounds on my synths. Cooking is another passion of mine, reflecting my love for creativity in different forms. In my downtime, I immerse myself in nature at my countryside retreat, drawing inspiration from the lush surroundings and my lively family. As a friendly and approachable artist, I cherish moments spent with my kids, leisurely Sundays in the picturesque Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, and the occasional piano session. Through my art and everyday life, I aspire to connect with audiences from all walks of life, creating work that resonates with the shared human experience.
