Hello, I'm Melanie, an illustrator based in mid Wales near the coast. My style can be best described as cute, colorful, and soft. While I initially worked with acrylic paint, I've transitioned to using Photoshop with a Wacom pen to maintain a painterly feel. I find joy in adding intricate details to my illustrations, striving to capture unique characters and moods, drawing inspiration from my surroundings.
Having pursued a degree in illustration at the North Wales School of Art, I have a strong foundation in bringing stories to life through art. One of my cherished projects involves a series of books for Floris Books, where I illustrated adorable Scottish animals and their likes and dislikes. Clients appreciate my ability to depict characters authentically and bring text to life by truly listening to their visions. As a mother, I find endless inspiration in my children, infusing my work with a touch of magic and wonder.
When not immersed in my art, you can find me enjoying family hikes in the nearby Eryri mountains or exploring the Welsh countryside with my partner, who is also a talented illustrator. With two children adding more joy and creativity to our lives, my journey as an artist continues to evolve with every new adventure.
