Hey there! I'm Valeria Volodko, an illustrator originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, now living in Madrid, Spain. My art revolves around creating adorable characters, with digital tools like Procreate and Adobe Fresco being my trusty companions. Drawing inspiration from music and colors, I infuse my illustrations with a unique sensitivity that truly sets them apart. Being an immigrant has broadened my perspective, allowing me to embrace diverse cultures and keep my creativity open to fresh experiences.
In 2018, I won an illustration contest, and my work was featured on the cover of V.O. (Versión Original), a cultural magazine in Extremadura, Spain. My illustrations have appeared in books across Spain, the United States, and Australia, including a playful project about Saray, a girl who lost her nose. Clients value my attentive approach, translating their visions into illustrations brimming with personality and emotion. My journey from industrial construction to Graphic Design helped me explore creativity in new ways and refine how I bring ideas to life.
My artistic journey is deeply influenced by my parents, whose love for art and teaching instilled in me a passion for exploration and perseverance. Nature, music, movies, and the tapestry of everyday life inspire me, whether I'm wandering the vibrant streets of Madrid or relishing the tranquility of the countryside. Outside of art, I enjoy Sundays outdoors, discovering new places with my family. Ultimately, if my illustrations can bring a smile to someone's face when they open a book, I consider that a profound reward. With two lovely daughters, a playful dog named Milka, and a mischievous cat named Lapi, my life is a colorful canvas waiting to be explored.
