I moved to England 5 years ago after completing a BA degree in Mural Painting and Fine Arts from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia. I have been creating greetings cards for the Two Bad Mice publishing company since 2009. In the past two years I have produced illustrations for HarperCollins, Parragon, Marks & Spencer, American Greetings, Kar-Ben Publishing and QED (with my first written and illustrated book ‘I’m the Happiest’ published in 2013).
I really enjoy looking at children’s books and have been collecting them long before I thought I might like to illustrate them for a job. I like detailed and atmospheric illustrations with simple, friendly stories like Winnie-the-Pooh.
I haven’t a brother or sister but grew up with a cat and a dog in the house - I even had a raven for a while! I believe this is how my interest and love for animals began. I would draw them all the time and study their characters that often reminded me of people. I adore all animals in their various colours and shapes; I like the way they’re different from one another and how humanlike they can be.I now live in South West England with my husband and one year old daughter.
