Hello there, I'm Esme Lee, a digital artist from the vibrant seaside town of Brighton. Originally from traditional print media, I've transitioned into the realm of digital art, blending old-school techniques with new-age creativity. My artwork is built on a rich understanding of colours and textures. When I'm not drawing, you may find me swimming around Brighton's piers.
Coming from a background of 2D print design, my process begins with hand sketches of characters and settings before I bring it over to work digitally on my iPad. This approach helps me focus in on the world I'm illustrating.
I used to build collages of magazine cut outs when I was growing up which led me down path to becoming a children's book illustrator. You can often catch me sketching away on Brighton beach or pier, usually fuelled by caffeine from my favourite cafe! On Sundays you'll find me nestled in my cosy flat with a good book listening to some movie soundtracks.
