Hi! I'm Eugenia Nobati, an illustrator born near Buenos Aires, where my artistic journey began and continues to thrive. My style revolves around the emotive portrayal of characters, moods, and settings, brought to life through the interplay of line and color. Starting with graphite pencil sketches on paper, I digitally paint while occasionally dabbling in pastels, acrylics, or collage. With a background in graphic design, the tools acquired early on still influence my image composition.
I was selected to represent Argentina at the 2012 Bratislava Illustration Biennial and received the prestigious ALIJA Outstanding Award in 2014 from ALIJA/Argentine section of IBBY. Both were important milestones in my career. Having illustrated more than fifty books in nine countries, I have a special fondness for my work on children's poetry books such as Yuck, You Suck! and Eek, You Reek!, which are full of fun characters. Clients appreciate the vitality and humour that these expressive creations bring to each project, backed by meticulous attention to detail honed through formal education and workshops with distinguished mentors.
With roots in an artistically inclined family, I am inspired by my mother, a ceramist whose creativity has shaped my own path. When I need inspiration, I take a break in nature with my bike, near the river, under the trees when possible, or randomly browse through old books and magazines in my library. I reserve Sundays for spending quality time with my family, that includes a lazy cat named Mosca, enjoying outdoor walks, cultural outings, or shared meals. My greatest aspiration is to be remembered as a kind person by my loved ones.
