Hello! I'm Malu Lenzi, a Brazilian-born artist currently residing in Copenhagen, Denmark, a city I've called home for the past seven years. My artistic journey has taken me through different cultures and significant life experiences, all impeccably captured in my delightful illustrations that combine a cute, sweet, and delicate style. I tend to favor bright, candy colors and dotted-eyed characters, often anthropomorphic animals radiating calm, nonchalant joy. They encapsulate a beautiful blend of modern aesthetics and mid-century vibes, a reflection of my passion for non-verbal languages and my deep fascination with different cultures and the beauty of artistic connections across borders.

Having initially studied Architecture and later, Communication, embarking on a creative journey through drawing wasn't my first career path. It began when I let my childhood fascination with stationery and inherent creativity merge into a beautiful, shared journey: creating whimsical anthropomorphic characters in books that would captivate children, the kind of books I wished I had as a child. I approach projects with childlike wonder and excitement, tempered with very adult professionalism and clear communication. My clients often comment on the joy my characters bring to approval meetings, bringing smiles and I always end up knowing their own personal favourite animal, which makes me smile. My two degrees, along with my background in marketing and advertising, fuels my creativity with a strong, narrative-driven approach, resulting in characters that tell their own enchanting stories.

I've always being inspired by animated series. I grew up obsessed by 80's and 90's TV cartoons such like "My Little Pony," "Care Bears," "The Jetsons," "Power Puff Girls," and Walt Disney movies, coupled with a big crush for stationery. My love for these characters and their magical world helped shape the scope of my art. Despite being an ambivert, I find inspiration in observing people in big cities, particularly children. Even on lazy Sundays, you'll find me indulging in leisure activities like puzzling, drawing, and watching cartoons, often reflecting the playful and whimsical qualities characteristic of my art. More than just being an artist, I hope to leave a legacy that resonates with both children and their parents: a gentle reminder about the daily importance of kindness and the childlike enthusiasm for exploring countless possibilities no matter how daunting the problem may seem.
