Hello there! I'm Margarida Sampaio, from a charming, tucked-away village in Portugal, where whimsy and colour find their way into my heart and onto my digital canvas. Art for me is an intersection between vibrancy and delight, an ethic I owe to an old friend – paper. It's where my ideas first take shape and the starting line to my joyous sprint with imagination. And, of course, my fondness for vibrant hues and fun creation aren't my only passions – I adore animals, and share my home with three wonderful pets. I also find happiness doing crochet and have cultivated a lifelong passion for reading.

Throughout the years, I've been honored to showcase my work in a number of Portuguese galleries, but the highlight of my career remains having the honor and pleasure to illustrate books for children. With my background in Law and Graphic Design, I pride myself on imbuing every project with unmistakable detail, discipline, and diligence. My clients applaud my use of colour and ability to create amusing scenarios, all beginning in a humble notebook before they come to life digitally.

I truly believe my love for books, nurtured since childhood, paved the way for my artistic journey. Whether I was immersed in a story or crafting my own, the printed word was my happiest playground. From the lush haven of natural beauty I call home to the simple pleasures of family time, every moment of my life serves as an inspiration. What defines a perfect Sunday? Cuddling with my pets - who've been my best company on this journey, immersing myself in a book, and spending time trying to be the best person I can be. At the close of day, I hope to leave an imprint of a happy artist – and a decent human.
