Hello there! I'm Rocío, but you can just call me Ro. I was born in rainy Galicia, in northern Spain. Growing up, I enjoyed many grey days that were perfect for staying inside and spending hours creating imaginary worlds. After graduating with a degree in Advertising from Vigo’s University, I worked as an Art Director in the advertising industry. In 2015, I decided to make a change and moved to sunny Barcelona, becoming a freelance illustrator.
Since then, I have illustrated commercials, magazines, picture books, and educational materials for clients worldwide. I mostly work digitally, but I also love mixed media. Children’s illustration allows me to create humorous characters, play with bright colors, and challenge myself to find the best interpretation of the text. When I am not working, you can find me riding my bike or drinking tons of coffee.
